Febuary 2011 was apparently a big month for Jcopro.net, as I switched from a free WordPress.com account to a self-hosted (paid) WordPress.org blog. WordPress.org provides a lot more customization ability, but you do have to pay to host it – thus the ads that you see. I’m glad I did it.
This month was also the first appearance of the Glade Air Fresher that I’ve used for several things not spray-related. In this post, I show how to take one apart and outline the immense hacking potential of one. Per this capability, I show how to make a wired remote trigger for a point-and-shoot camera. I also show how to remote control this device using parts from a cheap RC truck. Not to leave anything out, I also took apart a Glade Sense and Spray air freshener.
Obviously, the newly-discovered air fresher hacking took up a lot of my free time, but I did also do another stop-motion-animation video with Jason about “crushing” various objects. I still was using a point-and-shoot camera, but it was an improvement on my Env2 used in the first two stop-motion videos I made.
