Make Your Own PVC Man

I’ve described how to make a stop motion “PVC Man” animation, but how do you actually assemble the pieces to make one?  From the previous video, this should be fairly evident, but if you’d like a shortcut, here’s a component list:

  • Elbows (12)
  • T’s (6)
  • 4 way crosses (1)

  • 24 inch (3 – legs and body)
  • 4 inch (4 – hips and head)
  • 8 inch (2 – shoulders)
  • 18 inch (2 – arms)
  • 2 inch (2 – head)
  • 4.5 inch (1 – head)
  • 3 inch (1 – neck)

Optional Accessories:

  • Glasses
  • Gloves
  • Electroluminescent lights
  • Zip ties and duct tape

Stick them together as shown in the “Birth of PVC Man” video featured in this post, and really that’s all there is to it!  I didn’t use any glue, but I suppose if you wanted something that didn’t move, such as a low spouse approval factor lawn ornament, this might be useful

Ridgid MS1065LZA Saw, 10-Inch Compound Miter with Laser

stop motion animation gif of PVC manit’s a really easy hack if you even want to call it that.  I was able to make the frame with the saw listed above in well under an hour not including the concept and design.  if you decide to build one, be sure to send me some pictures.  I’d love to feature any projects that attempt to follow-along with my write-ups!
